Academics

At Delta Chi, we take our grades very seriously. The members of our Fraternity realize that we are students firstly and most importantly, and fraternity men only subsequently to that.

Ritter Award

During the Spring semester of 2005, the Ritter award was presented to our chapter. It is awarded every semester by Mr. Charles Ritter from the Alumni Association to the fraternity with the most improved GPA. The award was used to purchase new tables and chairs for the chapter room. This new equipment is used many times every week during study halls, and we hope that with our bi-weekly and tri-weekly study halls, we can continue to keep our GPA at a healthy mark!

Associate Member Study Hall Program

One of the steps we have taken to help improve our Chapter's GPA is to start a Study Hall program. All associate members are required to attend, and some actives with less than admirable study habits are also required to attend. This program is a bi-weekly or tri-weekly time we get together as a group and study. This kind of studying seems to be effective because almost every class someone is in, another Brother has taken before and can assist if problems arise. As a good proportion of our Associate Members are freshman, we hope to help them establish good study habits at the beginning of their college career so that they can maintain a respectable GPA throughout their college careers.

GPA Requirements

Delta Chi requires all associate members to maintain a 2.25 GPA to become an active member in our fraternity. This is a very important requirement that the Fraternity puts on its associate members. By not allowing associates with substandard GPAs into the Bond, grades will not be a burden to the Chapter in the future. By allowing failing students into our brotherhood, the chapter will not have to deal with students constantly withdrawing and going inactive because of grades.
